Erasmus Mundus Master in Sustainable Territorial DevelopmentThis Master’s programme aims to develop expertise in spatial management and sustainable development at the regional and local level (cities, rural areas, industrial districts, etc.), as well as to support policies that integrate economic, environmental, international, intercultural, territorial and context-driven dimensions. To this end, the programme focuses on society and companies imbedded in systems of governance and stakeholder participation. The European and non-European students study together at the Università degli Studi di Padova (30 ECTS) in the first semester. In the second semester, they move to K.U.Leuven (30 ECTS). The following year, the programme continues at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne (30 ECTS) in the third semester, and for the last semester, dedicated to an internship and the Master’s thesis (30 ECTS), students choose between the three aforementioned universities and the Universidade Catolica Don Bosco in Brazil. An extended experience and international collaboration ensures a multidisciplinary approach that opens students’ perspectives to the sustainability of territorial use and organisation, while also confronting them with various policy tools and management strategies in divergent territorial contexts. A Bachelor’s degree in human science, in environmental science or in engineering is required, in addition to knowledge of French and English; a basic knowledge in economics is also helpful.
