Introduction:

WaTEM LT is a spatially distributed soil erosion and sediment deposition model that can be used at different temporal scales up to several millennia. It is based on the WaTEM/SEDEM model (Van Oost et al., 2000a; Van Rompaey et al., 2001, Verstraeten et al., 2002) but is simplified in order to reduce input data and expand applicability at longer time scales. It is possible to run the WaTEM LT model backwards in time, so that only a present digital elevation model and a mask are needed for input.
